Messy Church

Come and join Messy Church at Emmanuel

If you haven’t yet tried Messy Church you are very welcome to pop in anytime.  You can be involved as much or as little as you like!

As I have said before, we welcome visitors as well as helpers, so give us a try – crafting is for 1 hour from 4pm to 5pm followed by celebration time, yummy Messy food and great fellowship to 6pm.

What a great time we had at Messy Church on Sunday 4th March and a great number of children and parents! The craft tables were very busy with little fingers making various varieties of sheep!

The Lost Sheep being our theme, we made fluffy sheep with cotton wool balls and toilet rolls, beautiful name plaques to remind us that God knows each one of us by name; we rolled marbles covered in paint to show how the sheep (and we) wander away from the Shepherd. The ‘artist’s corner’ shows many types of sheep – the colours are very impressive! But the most popular craft by far – as always – something edible! Biscuits decorated with smarties and icing in the formation of a sheep! – They didn’t last long enough to take home; they were eaten before celebration time!

Peter told the parable of the Lost Sheep with much enthusiasm, and even had the children hunt around the hall in order to find the one that was lost, well done to Morgan Timpson who made short work of that!

Before going home we enjoyed Messy Food – Hot dogs, fresh fruit and cake!

Hope to see you at our next Messy Church on Sunday 6th May 4.00pm.
