Prayer Meetings

Prayer at Emmanuel

During the services at 8.30am, 10.30am & 6.30pm on Sundays and 10.30am on Wednesday we pray for the sick and bereaved by name.

There is a prayer request book at the back of church and people are invited to add names for people to be included in our weekly intercessions. Please make sure that you have the permission of any person you wish to add to the list.

Prayer Meetings

These take place on the 2nd & 4th Mondays of the month.

The meeting on the second Monday starts at 1pm at the Parish Centre.  The meeting on the fourth Monday takes place at 7pm in a parishioners house.  Meetings usually last for approximately one hour.   It is a quiet time for prayer, meditation with music and reflection on our spiritual lives.  It is very restful and theraputic in its approach to contemplative prayer in this busy world.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God”. (Philippians 4:6)

The group prays for those whose names are in the prayer request book and other concerns.

Anyone is welcome to come and meet with us. People are free to join in with open prayer or to pray silently.

Prayer During Advent & Lent

During Advent and Lent the Vicar leads a weekly reflective prayer meeting to help people focus on preparing for Christmas and Easter. The meeting takes the form of short readings, periods of silence, and some structured prayer. This is an opportunity to take time out from the business of the season, to stop and reflect. Details of these will be available on the Calender and forthcoming events pages.
